Was primarily a college work blog, but now that I have finished for the year, it will show more of my own work.

My plan for this week is to rig my character and add some textures.

I plan to rig my characters legs on monday and possible do a bit more, but for the most part i will follow on with the speed at which the rest of the class rig their characters.
Tuesday will be spent rigging the spine, and possibly doing some texturing.

wednesday will be spent rigging my characters arms and continuing with texturing.

Thursday will be spent sorting out the hierarchy, which will help organize things.

So overall i should have my character rigged and textured by the end of the week.

Thaddeus griffin influences

Thaddeus griffin is a character from Family Guy, with features which i plan to give my character, an elaborate mustache, evil look, top hat and suit.

waluigi influences



I looked at Waluigi, a character based on an evil version of luigi from the mario series, he has the look i want for my character. Sinister look, point features, constant grin, mustache.

Final Estings Animation



This animation was my finished piece for the Estings mini stinger brief, in which i was asked to create a 10 second animation promoting the E4 Brand.

I'm quite pleased with the outcome, dispite a few drawbacks, i think it covers what was asked of me in the brief and looks reasonable. If i was to improve on the animation i think i would alter the camera work and make it smooth, and change some timing in the animation.

If i was to make this animation again there are a few techniques which would have made it an easier and faster process, i could have used instances for the reeds/grass to reduce the amount of polygons, this would reduce lag and make working easier, i would have also made the worm a slightly different way, reducing polygons to make it look more natural as it moves and reduce rendering times.

I think the timing could definitly do with some work, the anticipation is off whent he fish shows up, and the camera work is a bit sloppy and could be re done.

The placement of keyframes could use some work, as when the worm goes to eat the fish, the speed could be altered. The keyframes are pretty much on 3's at the moment, as it starts on 180, then 183, 186, 189 and so on, this would probably look better shorted to 2's which would mean the keyframes would be on frames 180, 182, 184, 186 and so on.
